Why AEPS Exists
Most estate planning information available online is national in scope, but estate planning law is not. Families searching for answers often encounter general information that doesn’t fully apply to their state. This creates confusion, leads to misunderstandings, and sometimes results in costly planning decisions.
The American Estate Planning Series was created to address that gap. It combines:

• State-specific guidance reflecting each state’s legal framework
• Input from experienced estate planning attorneys to ensure accuracy and practical relevance

How This Works (For Attorneys)
1. Contributing Attorney — State Partner
One attorney per state is selected as the Contributing Attorney.
This is a long-term role focused on helping shape how estate planning is explained and understood in your state.
Typical involvement includes:
Reviewing state-specific educational content
Providing practical guidance based on real-world experience
Participating in updates as laws and planning strategies evolve

Future Expansion: Metro Opportunities (Later Stage)
The primary focus of AEPS is the one-per-state Contributing Attorney role.
As the platform expands, additional opportunities may open for attorneys in specific metro areas.
These roles are designed to:
provide a local point of contact for individuals who prefer working with an attorney in their immediate area
complement the statewide educational role of the Contributing Attorney
support long-term platform growth as more content and resources are developed
This is a later phase of development and not the primary focus during early expansion.
